The PZ Pošip Čara winery opened as a cooperative supporting about 100 family growers in 1984. They are considered large producers at about 17,000 cases annually.
The wine opens with aromas of white flowers and grapefruit and finishes with a range of tree fruit and tropical fruit, including grapefruit to pineapple, plus Mediterranean herbs. It has medium acidity and a medium body with a creamy mouthfeel, despite being aged in stainless steel.
Added bonus: only 13% alcohol and €17 per bottle. Bring on the prosciutto, black olives in local olive oil. Pair this island wine with any Korčula island fish or seafood.
