2024 Naumes Family Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc

This is a beautiful single-vineyard Sauvignon Blanc from the Rogue Valley, displaying aromas and flavors of citrus (lemon and lime) and tropical notes, vibrant acidity, and a lovely long finish.

It’s not surprising that winemaker Dustin can present a Savvy with this much character and complexity. After all, he gets lots of practice making many other people’s wines, as well as his own. Add to that his harvest experiences in New Zealand, and it’s not a stretch to discover he’s making an excellent SB. This 2024 SB was concrete egg fermented, coax out and balance tropical fruit. Dustin suggests, and I agree, that it qualifies as a quintessential “dessert wine”. This is an excellent wine with concentrated flavors and plenty of complexity, with a lingering finish to keep your attention.

I suggest serving this with a smoked salmon vinaigrette salad, or almost any whitefish dish, depending on the sauce and preparations. What did Dustin choose this wine as the most emblematic of the Naumes brand? Read his interview here.
