The “Giuli” Rose’ is an estate grown wine from young (10-year-old) vines, favored by the young proprietress and winemaker, Julia. It’s 100 percent Agiorgitiko (Aye-Your-Geet-Iko), a native variety, red fruited and slightly tart, with bright acidity and a vibrant mouthfeel. If the Folio region of Olympia could produce a Beaujolais nouveau, this could be it.
All of Drouva’s wines are organically produced and low-alcohol. Perfectly prepared by Mama Drouvas – our meal included mezze plates of homemade olivata, fresh olives, sun-dried tomatoes, egg-feta-zucchini soufflé, basil pesto, tomato cheese toast, and baked bread to soak up the estate olive oil – All are available to guests as part of the standard wine tasting.
Congratulations and many thanks to the Drouvas family for their generosity and authentic hospitality. Read winemaker Julie’s interview and learn why she chose this wine as their flagship.
