This is an off-dry German-style Riesling that exhibits all the classic characteristics of the variety. Tropical fruit, honey on the nose, and lime with zippy acidity on the palate make us a great wine for fruit-based salads, seafood (think Oysters, fried calamari), and spicy Asian food. And, at only 11% alcohol, this wine encourages sipping and sharing.
Chateau Ste. Michelle is largely responsible for making Washington State Riesling a worldwide phenomenon, and its 20-year partnership with Dr. Ernest Loosen of Mosel, Germany, helped the brand gain traction. The Eroica Riesling is emblematic of that relationship, German-style Riesling wines, and the history of the CSM brand.
This is a very good wine to drink now and have handy for special occasions. Winemaker Taylor Butterfield does a great job of explaining why she chose Eroica as her flagship wine.
