This Syrah from Troon vineyard is as close to “natural” as you can get without stating it. Four clones of organically and biodynamically grown Syrah were blended, fermented, and partially aged in concrete. The wine shows purity of fruit, and that Applegate Valley, Southern Oregon garrigue – that herbal savoriness that you associate with Syrahs from Southern France. This is a medium-full-bodied red wine that calls out the Troon sites and their regenerative farming practices.
This is an excellent wine worth acquiring, not only to drink now, but to revel in how it develops over the next 4-7 years.
