The 2022 Portree Cellars Fiano is kissed by the sun and a hint of honey, as well as aromas of pear and cinnamon – both in the glass and on the nose and palate.
This is a luscious, full-bodied wine with a persistent finish. The fruit is from a single source – Pepper Jack Vineyard – in the Texas High Plains AVA. Only 163 cases were made, so if you can get your hands on an allocation, drink it up now; the Fiano is in its prime.
Try this low-alcohol (12%) white wine with rich creamy cheeses to match the creamy mouthfeel; Brie and Camembert come to mind.
