2022 JETT “Skysill Vineyard” Cabernet Sauvignon

I love restrained Bordeaux varietal wines, particularly from Washington State. Winemaker Gianna delivers a smooth, approachable Cab – only 4 years old – yet drinking nicely upon opening. The tannins are well integrated, and the relatively high alcohol (14.8%) isn’t distracting. The result is excellent, a smooth, juicy, luscious wine, showing dark blue fruit, baking spices, and a long finish.

This is a vineyard-designated wine from Skysill Vineyard, 40 acres farmed organically in the Mill Creek District of Walla Walla AVA at the foothills of the Blue Mountains.

What’s for dinner tonight? I paired this wine with baked radiatore Bolognese pasta and spinach meatballs (New York Times), and a simple arugula vinaigrette salad.
