2022 Fox Run Vineyard Dry Riesling

The Dry Riesling was resultant of Craig Hosbach’s first vintage at Fox Run Vineyard. He came to Finger Lakes to make Riesling wines, and in my opinion, he hit the ball out of the park with the 2022. Riesling is the hallmark variety in Finger Lakes and this wine was a great choice by Craig as emblematic of the Fox Run brand.

The tech notes on the website (winery readers take note – tech sheets on the website!) suggest citrus and lemongrass and power of suggestion aside, I fully agree. This wine is aromatic and perfumy, with a full-bodied creaminess on the palate that wants to be paired with butternut squash risotto (grilled langostino or shrimp optional). The bright acidity contrasted nicely with this dish.

This is an Outstanding wine and is drinking beautifully right now. I suggest purchasing and tasting over the next 3-5 years and likely much longer.
