2021 Whitehall Lane Cabernet Sauvignon

The Whitehall Lane Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is going to be long-lived. It has everything you’d want – fresh fruit, solid acids, and mostly restrained tannins – I’d like to revisit this offering often over the next seven to 10 years. This is an excellent example of what a thoughtful and well-structured Cab can be.

The wine is full-bodied, balanced, complex, and has length. Black fruits and leather notes are predominant. This is a cab forward blend with percentages of other Bordeaux varietals. The aak regimen is ambitious – 50% new and 50% neutral – yet tannins are well integrated.

I always have food in mind, and decided on this classic family meal pairing to take advantage of the fruit-forward nature of this wine. Italian frittata, with onions, mushrooms, pancetta, fried potatoes, and parsley eggs. Add a baguette and a green salad, and you’ll understand, if you don’t already.
