This is a black fruited, medium-acid, smooth, silky, woodsy, earthy, round Syrah from Valley View Winery in Applegate Valley, Oregon. I know that’s saying a lot, but it’s all there.
Valley View Winery is a 50-year-old brand in the Applegate Valley. Domain Rogue is their next-generation fine wine project headed up by the inimitable Mike Bronson.
This is an excellent medium-bodied wine with jammy fruits and earthy notes on the palate. It finishes round and long and is eminently drinkable now, and will only improve over the next few years.
