Cherry red visually, with the same fruit on the nose, this is a very good wine with lip-smacking savoriness and a medium-long finish. I’m tasting Kristy Tacey’s Pinot Noir specifically to recommend pairing with grilled steelhead salmon, at a dinner party with dear friends.
The grapes are sourced from Saveria Vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA of Central California, known for its coastal influences and ethereal Pinots. There are lots of baking spice notes and a faint salinity in this wine, balanced with bright acidity. I believe our hosts will be pleased.
For those Francophile readers, winemaker Kristy chose this 1960 song by Edith Piaf, “Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien”. Read her wine characters interview here.
