There’s nothing better in my book than an excellent wine with a great back story. The “Uriah” red wine has both in spades. Find winemaker Kate Derby’s interview link below to learn “Uriah” story.
Crimson, floral, and clean in the glass, the approach is smooth with redolent blue and black fruit on the nose. This is a well-structured wine with both acid and tannins apparent yet still integrated. I estimate that the wine is drinking nicely now – recommended with food – and will age beautifully for another five to seven years. This is a red blend of 54% Merlot and 46% Cabernet Franc, medium to full bodied and medium to long on the finish.
Tonight’s Food Pairing – Walla Walla onion and zucchini frittata, toasty French bread with olive oil. Salad course optional. Two Bordeaux-style wine glasses.
