2021 MontGras “Intriga” Cabernet Sauvignon

The wine is deep ruby in the glass and opens with aromas of black fruits, mushrooms, and earthiness. It’s medium-plus textured, with a medium-plus length.

This red blend from Maipo Valley is primarily Cabernet Sauvignon with 5% Cab Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. It’s beautifully structured and balanced. You can easily drink this now, but I suggest cellaring some bottles for four to seven years, and 7 to 10 years plus.

This is an excellent wine and a versatile offering from the folks at MontGras. It would pair with almost any meal with red wine on the table. Tonight, we’re having Italian sausage with ratatouille, baguette, and side salad. Yes, “Intriga” sums up this evening’s meal.
