2021 Meadow Estate Viognier

This is a 2021 Viognier from Meadows Estate Umpqua Valley Vineyard. Lovers of off-dry white wines will be buying this by the case. This style of Viognier wine is reminiscent of Viognier from the Rhone region in France. It presents heady aromatics and is full-bodied on the palate clocking in at 14.3% alcohol.

This is a well-made wine that reminds me of Caribbean and Mexican vacations, and ordering fresh and luscious bowls of tropical fruit. I want to pair this wine with spicy Asian foods, and even blue cheese as a light after-dinner digestif. We paired the Viognier with grilled salmon and found the briny saltiness and fattiness of the fish worked well with the fruitiness and acidity of the wine.
