Briny, lemony, creamy. Just what an albarino wine should be.
Pale yellow in the glass, this is a clean, crisp, refreshing white wine. It also has one of the longest finishes I can remember for a white wine, lingering on the pallet, which for me is a sign of character in a wine. I met and tasted with Katia last year at the winery, and I seem to remember her focus on lee’s aging, which would account for the wine’s creamy texture, another hedonistic pleasure I enjoy. At only 12% alcohol, this wine scores an outstanding rating – well structured and balanced and value priced – for a classic Albariño from Rías Baixas. Nice work, Team Katia. Special kudos to the Export Team for facilitating.
We paired the Albariño with pan-seared rockfish, roasted potatoes, and garlic-sauited fresh spinach. Really, any seafood would work. Do try this at home.
