2020 Solvero Pinot Noir

This extremely low yield Pinot Noir (only one ton per acre) is a blend of seven different clones from Garnet Valley in the Summerland GI. The wine is showing red fruits, minerality, and earthiness. It’s balanced by vibrant acidity with well-integrated tannins. In other words, drinking nicely right now.

I love low alcohol wines paired with food, and this one will work well with dinner tonight – Provencal chicken, ratatouille, and of course, un petit baguette.

Solvero was one of the few forested sites I visited in the Summerland area. They have 30 acres of estate vineyards and seven clones of Pinot Noir. Clones are fermented and aged separately, with the final blend determined by winemaker Alison Moyes. You can read her Wine Character interview here.
