This is an inky Cabernet Sauvignon that is begging for grilled or smoked beef, preferably with grilled onions and mushrooms. The fruit is sourced from two Columbia Valley vineyards – Kiona Vineyard in the Red Mountains AVA, and Sundance Vineyard on the Wahluke Slope.
Winemaker Kendall Mix doubles down on a blend of French and American oak, 60% new, and aged for 22 months. The 2000 is built to last with an ageability estimated at 12 years according to the tech sheet. This is not a shy porch sipper, so plan your meal accordingly with a dish as big as the wine.
